Put On Yo' Record: Chasitie Hill

For my first blog post, I'd like to familiarize you with my music style!

Why music is important to me...
It's important to me because it helps ease my mind when i'm dealing with certain issues and it's always good when I can find a song that I can relate to. Music makes me feel like I'm not alone in this world by hearing others who are bold enough to express themselves through it. It challenges me to grow...to think...to imagine...to cry...to laugh...to live and to love.... this is why music is important to me!

My favorite song...

My favorite song will always be "Whenever, Wherever, Whatever" by Maxwell. Every time I hear it, no matter if I'm upset, sad or excited...it calms me...takes me to a place in my mind that is beautiful. Everything from the acoustic guitar to the simplicity of the lyrics to the melodic pitches of his voice. I love it!

My favorite musician...

Marvin Gaye...no explanation necessary

How I'm keeping real music alive...

By sparking the question, What happened to GOOD music. By creating a place for people who share my same views on the state of music today and revisiting true musicianship. By collecting records. By playing the stuff no one ever heard or forgot about. By digging up and sharing with people the new artist who possess the talent and skill of their craft and sing or play their music passionately with all their heart and soul.
